In April I was invited for the GANT X Esquire bloggers event, and one of the contesters is a blog called "These Cavemen" They selected 4 outfits from the Gant Haarlem Store, they could choose from Gant Mainline, Gant Rugger and Gant by Michael Bastian. Above you can see the results. As I saw the pictures it reminded me at a photoshoot called Black Ivy by Streetetiquette in 2010. Guys if you win this competition, I wish you a lot of fun in Stockholm and say hi to Christopher!

 GANT presented the latest Michael Bastian collection inside one of the artist studio at The Art Student League in New York City. The setting was a perfect one for the Bastian and GANT to showcase their “Stockbridge” Fall 2013 collection. Inspired by the illustrations of Norman Rockwell and the town of Stockbridge, MA where the artist lived, the GANT by Michael Bastian collection is a back to roots collection of garments that reflect the everyday wear of the subjects of Rockwell’s paintings. CHAD @ GANT RUGGER VENICE, CA.

GANT Rugger @  Abbott Kinney BLVD, called by GQ the coolest block in America and won the LA Racked Award for Best Men's Store 2012. 

Do I need more reasons to pay them a visit? I was welcomed by Rene & Danny, who showed me around and told me that the flooring came from an old gym. The fitting rooms are made from old doors and the wall system is a Danish design from the 50s designed by Poul Cadovius. The store is cleaner then the stores I visited in New York. call it "West Coast Style". In the store you can find the collections of Gant Rugger, Yale Shirts and Gant by Michael Bastian. Even a nicely curated collection of Gant By Michal Bastian for the girls. Rene & Danny told me that some Hollywood celebs already found their way to the store, just to drop a name Ed Helms (Hangover) is a regular.

Let's get ready, Michael Bastian takes us with him to the Galapagos Islands, this is where is inspiration came from for the Spring Summer 2013 GANT By Michael Bastian collection. This afternoon the presentation took place in the Industria Studio's @ Washington Street, New York. The music was hot and the cocktails brought us in the mood. The collection has some Southern American inspired styles, but also truckloads of tipacilly Michael Bastian styles, like the fitted cargo pant for example.

GANT ANTWERP FALL 2012

Just saw some inspiring windows of the GANT Flagship Store in Antwerp. They open the season with the Fall/Winter collection of Gant by Michael Bastian called "It's Your Lucky Day" and a "sweatshop" inspired window for the GANT Yale campaign. It's even possible to personalize your GANT Yale shirt with your initials. How cool is that????

CHAD YOU'VE GOT MAIL!!

Today I received my invitation for the GANT by Michael Bastian presentation. He will present his Spring/Summer 2013 collection for GANT, inspired by the Galapagos Islands, on wednesday September 12 - 2012 @ Industria Superstudio, New York. I'm looking forward to see this presentation as it's always a big happing with lots of press and bloggers. Next week I will keep you posted what's happening in the city that's never sleeps. Oh thanks to the mailman who ruined my card I had to use the pics from DRY, who developed the invitation and press kit.

PREPPY MEETS MOD, GANT BY MICHAEL BASTIAN

Yesterday, Michael Bastian presented his GANT by Michael Bastian FW 2012 collection during NYFW. This preppy college dude who gets inspired by the Mod scene of the 60s meets a new friend the rocker and Boxer, this in a nutshell the story behind the collection. Look at the great colorful outerwear pieces and the whole collection is really Bastian styled, slim fit cargo pants, widespread shirts, shaggy dog sweaters, perfectly fitted blazers etc. It's a putty that the backdrop in the pictures take way a lot from the colors of the collection.........Next time white back drops please!!!
