WINDSOR SHOWROOM THE NETHERLANDS

Yesterday I told you that I'm longing for Spring, but I couldn't resist to show you the Windsor FW 2013 collection. I had the pleasure to see the brand new showroom of Windsor in The Netherlands and
show you a sneak peek of the Fall Winter 2013 collection. My personal favorite is the unconstructed Harris Tweed blazer, but also the washed cotton blazers are great. Beautiful color stories in Green, Burgundy and Fresh Blue, mixed with grey and brown tones. All topped of with great acc. like woolen ties & bowties, double face scarfs and a collection of footwear. If you see a Duke next season you see the Duke of Windsor.

THE BROOKLYN CIRCUS

I promised you yesterday some goodies, well here they are! Last saterday I visited The Brooklyn Circus shop. The guys were so nice to let me shoot some pictures to share with you. I very much like the style of the updated varsity inspired clothes and the old props, like the football helmets etc. You can see and feel that everything they do in the store is with love, how they present the garments and how they welcome and help the customers, like myself.

"The Brooklyn Circus/BKc story begins in 2006 in a quaint neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York with the aim to strengthen consumers’ appreciation for classic aesthetics and antique motifs whilst upholding the pillars of modern design within a hundred year plan. With time-tested values of classic American craftsmanship, a love for urban tradition, vintage sensibilities, and an endless search for the timeless silhouette"

THE TUCKED IN TIE

Movies and Pictures of the 40s & 50s often showing U.S. soldiers tucking in their ties between the third and fourth shirt button. This must be done as a practical solution and it looked good as well. It doesn't surprise me when these pictures where the inspiration for those guys pictured by Street FSN. I think it's a great way to wear a summer tie.

CHAD IN VANCOUVER, BC - RAIN CITY

Vancouver, Canada...Poeh what can I tell you about the city of Vancouver? It's named after a Dutch family called Van Coevorden. It's also called Rain City, and the birth place of Brian Adams. My first impression wasn't the best I guess, I arrived late in the evening and the streets (E. Hasting) was packed with homeless people and that gave me a little strange feeling. The next morning, when I hit the streets it was raining cats and dogs, so also that didn't do any good to the city, but.......I found some gems. Walking into the Old Faithful Shop on Cordova Street made me smile again, beautiful products from the Hill-Side and bags from MAKR and Souhtern Fields, special tea from Bellocq etc. all packed in a great atmosphere. I love the canoe hanging from the ceiling. Next stop in Gastown was Inventory Stockroom on Powell Street. Which started some years ago as a web shop. As the rooms of the apartment soon became too small to stock the merchandise, they decided to open a store as well. You might know them from the magazine called Inventory. All this makes you hungry.....waiting in line to order the Sandwich Special of the day at Meat & Bread isn't a punishment, the sandwiches are great! A little away from Gastown on East Broadway you can find a store called Mr. Lee General Store. In a decor of antique props like a frame of a canoe, a Marlin, stuffed animals etc. you find not just clothes, but also coffee, magazines, bow ties, Pendleton blankets etc. When you plan a trip to Rain City be sure to bring some wellies and a rain jacket.

GANT RUGGER FOR A CLEAN CUT

GANT Rugger has it's own department in the basement of the Gant Flagship Store on Regent Street, London. It ain't tucked away there, no it get's the right environment and feeling here. The furniture and props are a great add-on to the products designed by Christopher Bastin. I very much like the window, Gant Rugger is a cut above the rest.
